Mr X. Possible close encounter

In his own words.

Dear Sirs

I am fifty-five years old and I have recently had two nights - a week apart, when what I can only describe as `having a nightmare`, where I am fighting in a dark oval tunnel with about five `greys`.
I do not usually dream or do not remember any of my dreams. The unusual thing is after each dream is that I have a triangular burn mark that is quite painful, on my right buttock.
I have woken from the dream at the same time in each case. The first time my screams I think awoke me.

I should like to know if there are any groups or persons you can put me in contact with so I can discuss what has happened.

Yours in anticipation

Mr X

Chorley

UFO report from Mr P S Topping. 13 July

I observed many different types of helicopters (large and small) coming from the North east and South West, they appeared to be looking for something, with this in mind I decided to investigate.
I made my way onto Anglezarke moor, Chorley, close to where the copters had been and arrived there at around 9.30 PM, it was a full moon and slightly cloudy.
For a couple of hours I saw nothing unusual and decided to return home via Healy Nab, as I reached the Nab I spotted a strange object just below a cloud in the near distance. It was disc shaped with what looked like two portholes near the centre of it.
It hovered for a short while then shot straight up half in and half out of a cloud, it stayed there for a few more seconds then entered the cloud and was gone."
The sighting lasted about five minutes in all and when I checked my watch I noted the time was 00.53.

Red Rock, Wigan

Date: Thursday, 12 March
Time: 18.35
Location: Between Adlington and Red Rock, Wigan.
Age: 67

"Terence" (who lives alone on his narrowboat) was testing the engine on his boat and made his way along the Leeds/Liverpool canal from the direction of Chorley towards Wigan.
As he approached the Red Rock area near Wigan, he noticed a small black triangular shaped object hovering over the canal not far from the Crawford Arms public house. Thinking that it was just a plane he didn’t pay much attention to it at first and got on with his chore. However, as he got closer to the object, he started to feel very uneasy, as he couldn’t hear any engine noises. Fearing that the thing was about to crash, he steered the boat to the canal bank and made sure he was safe, as he continued to observe the craft, he noticed what appeared to be a "fat" hosepipe dangling from its underbelly into the water.
Overcoming his initial fear, "Terence" started to run towards the triangle, as he did so the tube shot up into it and it banked to the left and `swiftly` moved off into the direction of Winter Hill.
Flabbergasted, "Terence" ran back to his boat and tried to take stock of what he had seen.
He then stated that for some reason, he started to feel drowsy and went into his boat to rest - only waking up at 10.00am the following morning! (Previously, he has always got out of bed at 6.00am!)
"Terence" told a couple of his friends about what had happened but they only laughed at him, so he decided to contact myself, as he’d seen my phone number in one of the local newspapers.
After a long chat with "Terence", I found him to be very rational and level headed although he is a bit of a loner and a "character". He said that he even though he had travelled all over the place; he had never seen anything like it in his life.
Although it was quite dark, there was a lot of ambient light in the area making it easy to see the craft -that; (in his estimation) ,was only 100ft above the water.
He did not observe any lights on the phenomenon.

Ashton in Makerfield, Wigan

From: Mr A Storer Age: 33 Office Manager.

I was walking my dog on some spare land, near to my home in Ashton In Makerfield, Wigan, on the night of Saturday, 14 06 97. (As I have done for the past 8 years) when I noticed a bright star like object in the near distance.
As the area is close to the flight path for Manchester airport, I paid little attention to it at first.
However, as the object got closer, I realised that it appeared to be unlike any aircraft I had seen before. It was a sort of gunmetal colour, oval in shape with two large rods of metal sticking out on its underbelly. As it came closer to me, I started to panic a bit as I found it hard to accept what I was seeing. I also felt out of breath and a little `light-headed`. I decided to get away from the area and as I turned around I heard a high pitched whistle and saw the object speed off in the direction of Winter Hill.
As I gathered my wits, I noticed that my dog had run off and he did not return home until much later that night.
On returning home, I told my wife what had happened and she told me I had probably been watching too many episodes of Star Trek!
I must say I have never seen anything like that before and I am totally baffled as to what it was.

Darlington St, Wigan

At approx. 8.00pm. A large `dog bone shaped ` object, at least 300feet in length, was seen by a gentleman on his way to St Patrick’s Rugby club, off Darlington St East, Wigan.
He stated that the object appeared out of a bank of cloud and had a highly polished silver appearance, it was travelling at about 20mph and was totally silent.
The sighting lasted for a few seconds, then the object vanished.
A minute or two later a large number of light aircraft (8 in total) approached the area and flew near to where the object had been seen.
He can offer no feasible explanation for what he has seen.

St Helens.

At 1.45pm, 19 November, the wife and I were on our way to a large electrical store in St Helens, Merseyside.
Driving through the Haydock area via Pennington Lane. The road starts on a high hill goes down into a dip then rises again after about 1 mile.
Whilst driving down from the top of the hill we noticed a large saucer shaped object travelling in a descending motion about 15 feet above a row of semi-detached houses about a mile away. The object appeared to land on derelict land to the left of the houses, unfortunately it would not be visible from the road near to the area, as the ground is rough and covered with deep excavations.
The object was a definite saucer shaped with a scalloped under-edge, silver coloured and totally silent.
I could find no way by car to reach the area and on-foot it could be dangerous.
On getting as close as we could to the site of the possible landing, we found it to be concealed by spoil tips which were quite high making it impossible to observe the scene.
On later investigation, we discovered that the area in question is `littered` by a large number of very deep abandoned coalmines.
Though we stayed in the vicinity for a while we didn’t sight the object again.

Samantha, Appley Bridge, Wigan

Sighting Report from a person calling herself “Samantha”, no other details forwarded.
No date given. Copied from her letter.

Incident:

It was a clear night, myself and three friends were just about to drive out of our street, in Appley Bridge, Wigan, when one of my friends spotted a strange object.

We all looked up and behind the trees an unexplainable craft started moving upwards, then it shot to the side in a zigzag manner over nearby Back Lane.

Within a few seconds it had gone out of sight.

The object looked like a triangle, or even a hexagon.

I say triangle because it had three very powerful searchlights in the shape of a triangle.

Underneath the craft, were about six rotating red lights in a hexagon formation.

It wasn’t an helicopter, as it was far too big and we have never seen an aircraft fly so low before, besides, we heard no sound. It was unlike anything we had seen before”
