On Sunday, 6.30 PM, Jeff ***** was standing near to Ince railway station when he noticed an unusual object low in the sky.
The object was shaped like a cylinder and metallic in appearance glowing dimly -similar to a fluorescent lamp with a sort of heat haze around it.
It was travelling due north from his position in the direction of Winter Hill, at 50 - 100 mph, in what he described as a smooth swinging motion, rather like a pendulum. As it reached the vicinity of Winter Hill it went straight up and vanished.
He stated that it certainly wasn’t a normal aircraft and he was left with a feeling that he had witnessed a UFO.
